EXPO 21: Report: Jet-Fueled Inspiration

18-20 Sept 2021, The TWA Hotel, JFK

Nick Arrojo opens the 10th Anniversary Expo, the hair show that pioneered a new era of independent, stylist-driven events.

A HUGE THANK YOU to all those that joined us for 2.5 days of jet-fueled EXPO inspiration at the TWA Hotel at JFK. A spectacular flight of fancy, Expo featured two days filled with presentations from the ARROJO team and global guest artists, plus a party to celebrate hairdressers coming together for education and inspiration again. Hosted in a remarkable venue, the whole weekend sparkled with creative energy, community, and camaraderie.

Rekindle your fire with a picture book look through the Expo weekend.

Nick Arrojo’s opening presentation highlights commercial colors and cuts, each with a distinctive creative edge to set your work apart.

Highlighting the non-binary trend Paul speaks of, his models pose in the TWA flight tubes.

Isobel Arrojo, niece of Nick and former Vidal Sassoon Creative Director who is now team leader in our BK salon, demonstrates modern creative ways to style a bob.

Isobel’s presentation also includes this grungy rock and roll look with all layers to the center point to amplify the concave shape.

A business panel featuring Karen Gordon (President Cosmetologists Chicago), Richard Daly (Owner Richard Salon, NY), Ginger Boyle (owner Plant Salon, LA), and Joe DiFalco (Partnerships & Development Manager, Phorest Software) discuss the future of the industry we love.

Kirill Hairfcker closes Expo with a mind-expanding presentation offering a fresh perspective on creative cutting and design.
